The Coming of the Dawn

Contributed by xxnights_childxx on Monday, 22nd August 2005 @ 01:21:25 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

As I restlessly lay in bed, starring at the ceiling,
I think about my life, and if it has any meaning,
Sometimes I come to a hault, or I hit a dead end,
I just can't find an answer, where will the road bend?
I get this awful feeling, like I'm running out of time,
Life's spinning out of control, yet it all seems so sublime,
It's hard to find the essence, of what I'm really worth,
What am I supposed to accomplish, why was I put on earth?
I wish I could see the future, it seems so far ahead,
But I can't immagine the real world, so I sit and think instead,
Then I drown myself in immagination, that seems to suffice,
But when I re-awaken to reality, I have to pay the price,
The heartbreak and angst, of a dream that never was,
And it all just seemed so real, a fantasy without a cause,
To you I appear to be searching, for what I'll never find,
I guess you'd never understand, unless you read my mind,
Are we all that different, or do we think the same?
Living as pawns in life, all playing an equivalent game,
What does it really meen to live, and to love another?
Are those the reasons that we're here, are there any other?
The questions that I ponder, I'm sure are shared by many,
I know we all want the answers, but really are there any?
Maybe it's all just worthless, and our existance is a joke,
And the afterlife is a lie, just the words that someone spoke,
But I don't think I'll take the risk, I'll live life to the extreme,
I've always been a firm believer, in the completion of my dreams,
So whatever life has in store, I'm ready to take it on,
For tomorrow is a brand new day, with the coming of the dawn.
