Recap Of Worthlessness

Contributed by weepingprophet on Sunday, 21st August 2005 @ 10:10:21 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

last night we sat outside
three hours of talk and listen
what charade are we in
what spectacle of oblivion are we?
God must be laughing at us

the door closed softly and quiet
slid into a gentle bath, relax
another night under the stars
with you

when we're alone i'm silent inside

the faucet fills the tub noisily
i block everything out
take it all away from you
and your image
a simple reach for you
would be justified, considering

i'm dreaming somehow sifting
through the sound of the water overflow
drips and pours onto the floor
tile soaked with my own rememberance

when we're alone i'm silent inside

and still i inch closer to the reality
that we may never find each other
sullen handed, trusting
we may never accept past it all
the guided hand in my pants
love so bitter

when we're alone i'm silent inside

i hold my breath for a moment
knowledge gained from experience
and sink to the bottom
everything above tilting down
through the screen of the water
changing
and light shifts, dark

am i breathing?

when i'm alone i'm screaming inside

the revelation of your arms around me
and i'm out of the haze
the recap of worthlessness
three seconds of remembering
moments of loss
you are not regreted or forgotten

tonight we'll sit outside
three hours of talk and listen
what charade are we in
what spectacle of oblivion are we?
God must be laughing at us
