secrets of the north

Contributed by xXxmegsxXx on Sunday, 21st August 2005 @ 03:33:06 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

the water trickles through the rocks
wispering the secrets of the north
the wind catches the mutters from the stream
and sends them swirling throughthe trees
from tree to bird to bird to fox
the rumours flood the land
as stories pass from beast to beast
of the wonders of the north

they say the place has enchanted beauty
the mountains filled with magic
but the only one to see the tales unfold
is the ever winding stream
for you see it's source is on the top most peak
a spring that rises from beneath
and as it flows down and round
the mountain reveals to it it's secrets

it tells of the bright evening star
which watches the people down below
and of all the magical creatures
that inhabit this wonderous land
such as the magic from the birds' morning song
which tell the sun it's time to rise
and of the great whale in the deepest salt-waters
that cause the mighty waves with the slightest movement

it also speaks of a giant serpant
from so many years ago
which slivered this way and that across the land
making the mountains and the valleys
this creature shed its magical skin
once all his work was done
to pass it's powers on to this place
that's hidden away from the world

each creature upon hearing of these miracles
try to get into this mystic land
and no matter how they try
each and every one fails
as one cannot go into this place
nor can one come out
except for the tumbling waters
that wispers the secrets of the north
