Rejected by mankind

Visions of freedom,
lay here, under my bed.
Giving company,
to all other things rejected, by mankind.
More to the point.
I see,
what should have been, right here.
Grass as far as the mind will let you imagine.
And Houses, painted blue.
In backyards children play,
along with the unicorns.
And finally find the pot of gold,
on the other side of the rainbow.
No guns or weapons of mass destruction.
People of all shades,
standing next to each other.
Not, to shed blood.
But, to hear the birds singing the sun asleep.
Giving goosebumps all around.
Feeling the breeze sweep around their cheeks.
Stars appear; giving light, to those afraid of the dark.
The image begins to fade,
slowly, then more steady, until I see,
what the world really is:
darkness
and nothing more.
Under my bed,
lies what could have been,
if we weren't human.

It must just be you and I, for I can visualize it perfectly. It is called Peace and Brotherhood. This is brilliant. I love you imagery of it. Alas, as all dreams, they are shattered by waking up and dealing with the real world. Keep that thought in mind. Maybe, just maybe, people like us will eventually cause it to come true.
