If, If's came true

Contributed by skinney86 on Sunday, 21st August 2005 @ 12:37:11 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

If you were to be trapped in a building,
With a blaze of fire surrounding you
I would be the one to run in after you
I would be the one to come in and save you

If you were to be caught in a robbery,
With a man pointing a gun straight at you
I would be the one to jump in front of you
I would be the one to take the bullet to save you

If you were to be on a boat thats sinking
With only one open spot on a life boat
I would be the one to push you on that boat
I would be the one to drown, just to save you

If there were any situation that risked your life,
That would put you straight into harms way
I would be the one to stand right beside you
I would be the one to protect you from it,

There are a lot of what "if's" in life itself
But when those "if's" come true, I will be here
To protect you, to hold you and listen to you
I will be the one person to risk my life for you
If and when those "if's" become a reality
