a Sonnet..

Contributed by Man_On_High on Saturday, 20th August 2005 @ 10:35:46 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Hearts and Stars are dim and bright..
candle tips and orbs of light
swim in emptiness they say
many a billion mile away.

Many a billion mile and year,
before their beam discerns us here
are stars, their place as counterpart
are something hidden in our heart.

So in this tangled sphere below,
my heart cries out to yours...I know
that mine'll be dust in many a year
before your heart shall ever hear.

As distant is.. a star from star,
is heart from heart.. but twice as far.

My desire is to be a shining star one day, looking down on my children and granchildren and holding special places next to me as I know my special one has held for me. Something about togetherness that fills my heart with joy and love. Right now, I don't shine, but one day I shall again and I plan to shine and sparkle, just like I used too.

Love,
Rita

The first stanza, is absolutly, breath taking. Many things, seem close to the eye, and then we do know they are far.! But, i always feel..the world is very small, and nothing is too far, if you want it bad enough.! So take those billion miles, away and make them only steps.!
Again, another beautiful write........sparkling like a gem

What a profound little piece of poetry this is my dear Billy.
How sad and yet so very beautiful.
"As distant is.. a star from star,
is heart from heart.. but twice as far"

Loved that!! So full of melancholy, but done with such flare!
You have once again captivated me beyond reason. A stunning piece.

always,
~Breezy
