From After The Moon, From Before The Sun

Contributed by jackman on Saturday, 20th August 2005 @ 09:41:39 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

liquid crystals in my veins
i think it makes me feel insane
it ruptures me and raptures me
it embraces me and captures me
these freaky thoughts i cannot shake
it's 5 AM, i'm still awake
the sun shall rise the moon shall fade
yet this tomb i'm in remains in shade
the antidote i cannot find
the answer's somewhere in my mind
hidden behind shrubs and trees
and distant faded memories
the night-time shall come back once more
reminds me of she i adore
the wind cries mary someone said
i don't hear that name but still i dread
that i cannot shake this inner fear
lost to me is the one who's dear
perhaps sometime i'll get some rest
but 'fore i do i've one request
that ammends are made and strings resown
please follow me into my home
and talk to me of what has passed
of when our ship did lose it's mast
and please stay for a cup of tea
i won't ask you to marry me
or get on my knees to sob and weep
or tell you how now i can't sleep
or how since you've gone i've been a shell
no of these things i shall not tell
for all i want for you to do
is take your feet out of your shoe
and listen closely as i say
"i'm sorry i behaved that way"
so once again we can sit around
and listen to some soothing sounds
and talk for hours into the night
and then you know my eyes just might
begin to droop and fade away
just before the break of day
as they did so long ago
as they did so long ago

wow... powerful poem! i greatly enjoyed reading this one. you really described it well, the way of not being able to sleep and having her come back just to listen to sounds. wow. it's amazing. you did great writing this poem, keep it up!

and i hope that soon you'll be able to get more sleep again!

brilliantly written. i sympathise - not having the chance to talk and say i'm sorry is so hard and makes losing someone so much worse. well done.

I love this poem, it's heartbreaking and written so well.
