Enough

Contributed by Nazmythian on Saturday, 20th August 2005 @ 02:43:35 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

With fingers like razors
You cradle my still beating heart
As I lie here bleeding
I watch while it’s still beating on
But I refuse to die from this torment
I refuse to cry for one moment longer

Through years and tears of desperate measure
I realized much to my pleasure
I can be anything I want to be, even stronger
Baby I’m growing stronger
Something is wrong here
I don’t belong here

No More

My heart’s paid restitution
For years of disillusion
Now my mind has gained control here once again
It’s rebuilt all my fences
And numbed all of my senses
Brought my pain and suffering to an end

Once it was disenchanted
Amnesty would soon be granted
Now I see much more clearly than before
So suddenly you face the truth
The unequivocated proof
My heart falls from your fingers to the floor

It's good when you get your head around your heart and can think again and not be ruled by a silly heart anymore! Very good write!

Oh no, wisdom rears its ugly head! Well, it is bound to happen sometime in everyone's life (thank goodness). Scott, this is a great write. Hope a few read and attach this to their brains and go forward with a new outook. Wishing you wisdom forevermore.

Smiles,
Rita

Hi Naz,

This is a very powerful poem, with very graphic imagery. I think your focus on the explicit is a real provacative approach, which is a good thing. The theme seems to focus on someone who has faced a lot of adversity, but perserveres.

Good job sir, but you kept us waiting a long time! :)

*STANDING OVATION*

Isn't it nice finding old treasures from the past? I love 'em! ^.^ This one, my dear, is exceptionally melancholic and angsty!! A sea of broken hearts floats along with yours, cheri... Recieve wisdom and strength from the tragedies, and thrive on the good things to come. Beautiful, as always!! Your talent... it blinds, and even more now as I notice how much you have "grown" with your poetry... Gorgeous, Nazzy, just gorgeous... I'm so glad you have found this masterpiece... it'd be a loss to us all if you hadn't. The last stanza really got me good, right in the gut. Emotional, and heart-wrenching. I think many can relate. Thanks so much for sharing, cheri. All my love. Forever,

Your little rose petal/avid fan,

~*Stephy*~
