Rose to Foe

Contributed by TheKid on Saturday, 20th August 2005 @ 11:54:25 AM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Goodbye my precious loving rose
You have grown into one of my evilest foes
I merely remain a vivid memory of your past
I quickly wonder why it could not last

What is this battle we are fighting?
Wish I could erase the pages and change it with my own clever writing
I’m through throwing punches, I’m sure I fought enough
Look into my eyes cant you see this is not a bluff

This could be a great mistake
One I wish I did not have to partake
But I can not live on with my heart in a million pieces
Day by day I pray the number of pieces gradually decreases

After all this time I realize I do not need you anymore
I have closed the drawer and slammed the door
You are permanently out of my mind
Sweep away the memories into a large bucket, as I close this chapter pulling down the everlasting blind
