A look in the mirror
and what do you see
just a man in the mirror
looking back at me
There's no one there to lie to
no secerts to conceal
no closet there to hide in
when the fear is all too real
Just a man in the mirror
one who's growing old
reflections of the life he's led
are stories best untold
The lines of woeful sorrow
that scar and mark his face
reveal the fear and horror
that's all too common place
Just a man in the mirror
who cries out in the night
just a man in the mirror
who mourns the dying light
Take a look in the mirror
and what do you see
just a face in the mirror
looking back at me
There's no one there to cry to
no excuses do apply
when the only reason for living
is I don't want to die
The cause is unimportant
as you try and face the day
no use in hunting reasons
they just get in the way
Just a man in the mirror
who's future's still unclear
just a man in the mirror
who's past he hold's so dear
there's no room for tomorrow
when you hold on to yesterday
all that's left is sorrow
when you miss out on today

Fine sense of expression, Wordsy! You hit on some of the subconscious thoughts that occur to others, too. This is one we can relate to. I hope we can all learn to live our todays with appreciation of our blessings, don't you? God's blessings to you. SusieQ |
