An invitation from a vampire

Contributed by maestar on Friday, 19th August 2005 @ 04:33:58 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Through the dark I feel his eyes,
Wearing night as a disguise.
Through the rain I heard his voice,
Giving me a dreaded choice.

Have the day and pretty flowers
Or trade them in for midnight hours.

Blood runs cold and people fear you
Can't get old, nobody near you

His eyes get dark, His voice gets low
What's your answer, yes or no?

Shall you smile and let me in,
Or cast me out for warmth of skin.
Life is cruel and full of sadness
Let it go, embrace the madness.

Now he climbs up to the window.
He grabs my arm and won't let go.
Come with me into the night,
You know that there's no need to fight

The choice is yours, I wont force you
Aren't you sick of life and fortune?

Take my hand swim in the death,
When you're dead we'll kill the rest

My lips part the words come out
Don't want to scream, don't want to shout
."The line between love and hate is thin
If you like...............

YOU CAN COME IN."

Very nice poem. Personally, after nineteen years of marriage I'd welcome it in with open arms, regardless of gender. lol

Would I take the bright sunlight;
and share my comely voice?
or would I take the shadows
if given but the choice ..

I think I'd like to hide,
and lurk about unknown,
be like a fly upon the wall
if the truth be known...

loved your write.. hope you don't mind me
babbling on ..

Frightening! A wierd and wonderfully scary write. It's true, we can feel love and repulsion towards the same being. Thanks for sharing.
