Secrets

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I lay my heart open down at his feet
Open ... Like a corpse on an autopsy table
Cold, pale, and lifeless
In this unbearable summer heat

Please, my love, let it go
Pay it no mind, my dear
It was never for you to know

Instantly ashamed by that look in his eye
That look that says, " I've cut off my arm since you said I had frost bite,"
" Now I see it was all just a lie"

I wrap up my heart and swallow it down
To rest in that hollow,
Which is so small,
And protected by my rib cage
Where he would feel quite at home...
If only he could feel anything at all

Hi LLG, this was so sad it really touched my heart. well written and very expressive. If this is about you I'm sorry for your pain, but like everybody says - things will get better.

Peace and Gentle Hugs, john

It's the bomb! SHAZAAM! I really like the line " I've cut off my arm since you said I had frost bite,"
" Now I see it was all just a lie"
That was very satrical, very nice wording!.

This is great work and would lend itself very well to a powerful performance.

Pander.
