Foolish Pride

Contributed by jaycee on Wednesday, 17th August 2005 @ 02:47:13 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Brain running in sixth
began to suspect
But accusation was pointless
my thought she'd deflect

And dump me she did
'cause she never lied
Let it worry me? I scoffed
No, I've got pride

Then those feelings returned
as they logically must
And capacity to love
decayed into rust

Engineer builds the walls
to keep out the pain
but I turn around
it's found me again

Having put faith in my mind
wish I could rip it apart
Should have trusted what's right
and followed my heart

We humans tend to over analyze things to the point of destruction at times in life. The mind only goes by what it sees and many times misconstrues the truth. The heart is usually the most reliable. This is a great poem and I have had these occasions in my life as probably most have. .

Smiles,
Rita
