Hidden Emotions

Hidden Emotions
~~~~
I’ve never been the greatest at emotions
All the tears I’ve cried would dry an ocean
My feelings are kept hidden, rarely on display
I use words to tell the story of what I want to say
I hold no quarrel with those who cry at every whim
Losing control in my eyes is definitely not a sin
Yet seldom will you see my eyes pouring rain
Crying isn’t the way I deal with pain
I jot down a line and include it in a poem
And over time those writings have only grown
I pour out my heart in a sincere type of way
I release all the emotions my lips would never say
It’s not that I’m a tuff guy with a heart made of stone
Or I don’t have a soft spot in these aging bones
For those who know me best can tell you of my heart
And just how many times it’s been ripped apart
Be it pain or be it joy, I’ve experienced it like the rest
And often my emotions have been put to the test
But like many others have learned to write them down
In a quiet little spot with no one else around
I write of joys of birth, and the agonizing pains of death
Seldom does my pen ever get any rest
I’m not a man on an island or a mime in a play
I’m just a writer whose work is on display
Excellent poem!
Writing is one of the best forms of expression, I believe.
You definitely have a gift for it and it would be a shame not to use it as often as you can.
Take care,
Lizzie
