Neptune's Verse

A song of water fills the sky
Neptune’s voice set free
The crash of waves on distant shore
The anthem of the sea
Ares’ might, though strong as steel
With this cannot compete
For Neptune, god of ocean strength
Is Poet of the Sea
His rhyme and verse our vision sees
Our ears, what melody!
His verse, such grace! Breathtaking words
He’s written in the sea

Ah, Neptune, what a wonderful subject. Such beauty in his world. Inspiration of sights and sounds. The feel of the mist in the air. The smell of the water. The beauty it holds underneath its evermoving surface. Your poem is a joy and great tribute to one of the most beautiful things in this world.
Smiles,
Rita |

Poet indeed. The tide has drawn you in again, and again it inspires beauty. Well done, David.

Solid, solid write, W. Echoes of ancient Greece in both style and references. Much enjoyed.

What an utterly poetic way to view the sea. I wish I weren't so afraid of water so I could enjoy such things, but I'm glad you enjoy them enough to describe the pleasures so well.
Love and peace,

Not sure whether someone compared you to driftwood there...
But good work. I need to go to the sea again, drat it all. Where's a car when you need one?
You're starting to sound a bit like the neoclassicists here, especially with the exclamation points. Reminds me a bit o' Tennyson and such-like.

I live in Michigan so I haven't been close to the ocean, but I do love being by the water. My biggest form of peace is just being on the lake in tune with nature. I totally enjoyed this. I can just imagine the crash of the waves and Neptune speaking of the beauty of the sea. Well done.
