Turned inside out
these days
can't explain the reason why
feel like I'm firing cocaine
anxiety eating me alive
Why do these thoughts plague me
I feel so angered and enraged
If only I was a book, man
I could simply
turn the page
Moments alone
can be treacherous
thoughts seem to consume
even when I try to dismiss them away
It's like they have a mind
of their own
I am afraid of who I'm becoming
so many trials I've been through
are they catching up with me?
and dammit the drugs they prescribe
only sets me free
temporarily
Carrying a heavy load
my back in a kyphotic stance
burdened by my own mind
somewhere in a Prozac trance

Very good masterpeice, I mean the writing.
I've never taken prozac but I do take 200 milagrams of Zoloft when I start my day. I can relate to this write well before Zooloft.
I have no side effects, it don't make me sleepy but it does help me deal with things in a much calmer way. Thought about it a long time and finally thanked god for finally the chimical my brain needed, then thank Drs. for finally getting right. Now I say come on Zooloft.
Hang in there, my friend as many people can relate to these words than u would imagene.
luv, huggs, Zooloft, Prozac,

This is a very well formulated write with powerful imagery. Even more impressive is your own personal exposure. I have been on prosac and xnax in the past; and I have battled the anxiety and depression. So you are not alone my friend. I think some of us struggle with a need to control and be in charge; and it just isn't always possible. For me there has to be a higher power upon whom I can rely.
Peace be with you my friend

Absolutely amazing poem...'trance' is probably the best word to describe it.
Sometimes I wonder how much good the drugs really do,
sometimes I think we'd all be better off without them.
Take Care,
