Sing me a lullaby.
Kiss me good-night.
Pull up my covers,
And turn out the light.
But when that door closes,
And you walk away,
The darkness will come,
I've always been afraid.
Afraid of what lurks,
In the black of my room,
As i pray to God,
That i fall asleep soon.
Afraid of the tricks
That my mind likes to play,
The faces at night,
The voices in day.
So sing me a lullaby,
And kiss me good-night,
Pull up my covers,
And tuck me in tight.
Please don't mind my wimpers,
I'm just a little scared.
But i know that when the light comes back,
That nothing will be there.

i used to be afraid of the dark. but now i really enjoy it more than the light.
i really liked your poem it was very well done :) |

| i'm not afraid of the dark but i have this thing where i can't enter a bathroom at night in the dark. I have to have a light near the bathroom on plus the bathroom light and after i turn the light off in the bathroom i have to make sure there is another light on till i reach my bed. To many candyman's and blood mary's when i was younger has spooked me for the rest of my life. So i feel ya. |

This was a really great write.. I thought it was well written and it flowed smoothly.. i was once afraid also and i admit i still am..
