I Need A Firewall For Love

Contributed by secretwind on Tuesday, 16th August 2005 @ 09:26:02 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The phone is ringing
someone's knocking at the door
common sense is fleeing
there is no such thing
as normal
no not anymore,
I never get what I am needing
I only get Ignored
silently I'm screaming
wanting
to be the one someone adores.

Don't know how I got myself into this mess I am in
off balance I stagger
never really knowing what's happening,
confusion rules
there is nothing I can do
I'm a lost soul
and my heart is bleeding.

The carousel of love
opens the gates of hell
and demons run free
Infecting this relationship and breaking me,
conflict of Interest cuts me deep
I feel so abused
my heart is bleeding
and my soul is bruised.

If relationships are about caring
why do I always get Ignored
I think I've had enough
I just want to be left alone,
The phone keeps ringing
I don't care anymore
I turn up the music
as someone pounds on the door.

"The troubles come like rain
and if you''re not prepared
they''ll sweep you far away

But if we can grow through them
learn through our suffering
we''ll help some one else out some day"

The hardest thing to do is to forgive. People hurt us and it is a natural part of life and no matter how much we prepare our hearts it is gonna happen. I wish that wasn't true but it is. All I can say is that how we respond to that shows who we really are. I like this poem but the message it teaches will hurt more than moving on and dealing with the pain inside you. I know that because I once shut people out too.

The quote above is from my poem "Hi I am a lonely person"
