My Back Garden.

Contributed by bernard2 on Tuesday, 16th August 2005 @ 11:20:56 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

My back garden is a shambles,

Full of weeds and brambles.

I would give an awful lot,

For someone to dig a plot.

Enough for fresh grown flowers,

That I could gaze at for hours.

I would like some sweet peas,

A flower that will surely please.

Roses for their colours and scent.

Now that would be time well spent.

Some antirrhinums just for show,

Would really make my old heart glow.

Lavender is well worth growing,

I could put it in the sachets that I am sewing.

For a garden full of flowers I sigh,

My time of digging gone all too swiftly by.

I will have to put up with my weeds and brambles,

And my garden will remain a shambles.

My husband always did all our yard work. I am afraid I have a black thumb. I have had to hire a yard man to keep all the roses from dying and wild grasses from taking over the yard.

Love to you both,
Rita

Oh,Bernard, I would gladly dig a garden for you. I have several rose bushes in my yard. Lillies of the Valley, Daylillies, Peonies, Lilacs and last year I finally got a bunch of Irises that I've been wanting. If I had more property I would plant a ton more. I hate the city! Bah-Humbug!! Sorry, got carried away. Great poem. 5/5
Thumps ;o)
