Iambic Hexameter
Our Decoration Day remembers those who died
for country giving lives in military way.
Their courage shining bright as lights is true and tried
reflecting deeds far better, yea, than we can say.
To those dead souls our humble homage we do pay.
Put flowers, wreaths, flags, prayers on high upon their graves,
thanks be to those who died we're free this day not slaves.

I loved this Laurie - subject as always - however this structure I think reminds me of a bit of Auden or early Frost - whatever it suited my read.
Best regards friend
