The Cave

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Monday, 15th August 2005 @ 11:23:21 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Receding to the cave
things aren't going well today
feel I need a place to hide
from me

All is quiet there
in the cave
leave a small hole to breathe
a peep hole to see

They know to leave me be
in the cave

Let me rest
Let me repent
Let me resent

myself
for needing
the cave

I have stayed there for days
days long ago
darkened curtains over the window
blanket on my head

in the cave

It has been my protector
from harsh lightening storms
it has relieved the cold chill of bones
kept me safe and warm

Call me crazy
yeah, I know
least I have my cave, man
got my safe place to go

i liked your conveyence of this illness....chilling and touching..

Laura each time I read your, words, poetry, I am brought back in time to my own experiences, good and bad. You amaze me with the way you express emotions. My ex is bipolar, severe depression, was a very tough time in my life. T.Y.

This is a very honest, soul-bearing write Laura...I like the way you laid out your emotions in such a straight-forward fashion. Very well done, and I think we all need our cave once in awhile: )
