There’s a tension there that wasn’t before.
You laugh it off and swing at me with sarcastic remarks.
It’s easier for me to take the hit of your careless words than for you to feel the sting of the truth I present you with.
I’m always telling you, but you should already know.
The words bob, never sinking and being brought up again over, and over.
If they ever did plunge in and stay then everything wouldn’t be a blur, you’d have to come to a halt.
You continue to gain speed and it becomes impossible to stop.
You wouldn’t want to stop, even if you could.
You’d rather cause more damage than look at the damage you’ve already created.
I try to stand in your way but you’ve already gained enough speed to push me out of the way.
I’ve been packed down so much that I have no choice but to stand by.
But when you hit something that you can’t push aside, I’ll be there and you’ll be the one crushed.
Still, I’ll stand with you.

Interesting write. Made me think of a friend I had a long, long time ago. Her name is Kandi and I've lost touch with her and really miss her. We used to hang out and party and she was such a drunk, I mean the fall down pee your pants kind of drunk. Mouthy too and a little gal, I don't know how many times I had to help her arse out. She was a mess, and I loved her anyway. Thanks for the memories. If anyone reads this her name is Kandi Reedy Kuda or it was like 15 years ago, and she is from Ohio.I would love to connect with her again. Thanks for sharing the write. Peace to you, you sound like one hell of a good friend. Laura |
