Thanks for the cold

To feel like this I float away,
Your vision it shined around me.
A pity back then I didn't know,
Vision is beyond what many see.

At first you forced them to ignite,
That’s the stars that lit my day.
Now grey turns black and darkness reigns,
Then black and back to grey.

Back then I was fooled and blinded,
From time spent there, encrypted centred shiver.
Now I can see much clearer,
Than what I saw in our reflection in the river.

All I wanted, deserved and asked for,
Was truth sought from blunt surrounds,
You know, I knew, you had it,
Concealed inside the clouds.

So much said I failed to hear,
As I hid amongst the waves.
What’s my reason to share with you words,
As there’s little left to say.

I meant it though aloud I never said it
That sentence was repeatedly evading.
Pain as strong as ever was,
But soul burnt, limp and ever fading.

So many thoughts that still remain,
Circling in my head.
For all the paper written on,
From letters never sent.

Shiny talons that you owned impaled,
I never saw them coming.
Trust drips away in tiny spheres,
My heart splinters into nothing.

Cuts that slice so deep inside,
I crush diamonds in my hand.
Welcome to my winter,
Within this paper bag.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
