Odious Visions

When daylight falls,
In this shadowed heart,
I pray your look won’t kill me,
Or rip me apart.
What seems a mild look,
Can have the power to kill,
And oh what ill was wrought,
The night sounds so shrill.
A dark foreboding dreamscape,
So odiously frightening,
Could strike me dead at once,
Just like a bolt of lightning.
Chained up here in this place,
Of vile visions of hate,
I pray your look won’t kill me,
For I fear that that’s my fate.
