The Crab

The water streams in as,
A body of flesh and shell,
Flees to the haven of the rockpool.
It retreats into a crevasse and waits.
A glint of moving red,
The crab comes out,
It pounces on it, to find another crab,
They mingle.
Time passes and a family arises,
Two crabs are made,
They rise early in the morning,
They are not well.
Hunger sets in,
They click and clack,
Hunger sets in,
The father sets out to sea.
The fisherman,
Lay their webs of death,
The father is entangled and trapped,
Pulled to his destiny.
They click and clack,
And wait,
And click and clack.
But nothing comes back
