A Requiem To Love

Contributed by Darkhorse71 on Sunday, 14th August 2005 @ 12:58:54 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

All the stars have closed their eyes
and the moon has gone to sleep;
the angels now have bowed their
heads
as they begin to weep.

there will be no celebration,
there will be no joy tonight,
as all the love you felt for me
was taken back - has left a blight.

My days will now be filled with dread,
my nights are black and blue.
Of all the things there are in life
the only thing I want is you.

There is no consolation
in a past love that was free.
I can't bear the thought of living
life in the wake of a love meant to be.

The season of our love is gone
and with it went the light;
for only you were able to
take the darkness from the night.

Now that I live in darkness
all my dreams have deserted me;
for out of all the pleasures in life
you were the only one I could see.

My heart is broken and it's crying,
life inside of me is dead
because I lost the one who loves me,
I lost the one I was to wed.
All that's left for me to feel
are icy fingers of the night,
reaching out to chill my heart
and filling up my soul with fright.

The worms that now feed off my heart
feed off of loneliness,
in me they now have found a home
as I harbor hopelessness.

Now my ship has come to shore,
it's tattered and it's torn;
the remnants of a broken life
and a heart that's left forlorn.

john
