Thoughts of Which I Think

Contributed by AshRayne on Saturday, 13th August 2005 @ 05:02:20 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Thinking of thoughts,
Different thoughts,
Thoughts that no one can explain,
Thoughts only I know.

Thoughts of the ocean,
Wide across the far,
With the wind in my hair,
In the world of which we live.

Thoughts of summer,
And summer love of which I long,
The feeling of want,
Across the plain of eternity.

Thoughts of snowflakes,
Soft upon the surface,
White as the clouds from which they come,
Drifting in the wind.

Thoughts of longing,
For someone to want,
For something to live for,
On this miserable world.

But is the world so miserable,
For all the beauty, near and far,
For all the illusion,
Of love.

But is there really love,
For love be a strong word,
Meaning more than what you think,
Or be it merely a word?

A word of which settles,
Deep into the crevices,
Of my long dying heart,
Which aches of pain.

I believe it is a very brave thing to be open and honest about your true feelings, whether it be love or hate related. It's especially hard for guys because of the pressure from society for males to be the protector and never let their gaurd down. Guys need to learn that they are just as vulnerable as women. It's healthier to show the emotions we all already know you have.

The fact that you think and ponder---is an inclination to learn. The need to learn signals depth and intelligence. Keep thinking aloud and writing. We need more of this type of poetry.

You know what? You aren't alone. I ponder weeds in the cracks of concrete and how they managed to survive.

I hope your heart that aches will find the answer by thinking deep within.

A really, really, great poem to read.
