Candle lit piano keys
feel so poetic to the touch
an ocean of black and white
This melody from key
eases a broken heart
I take time to listen
Soothing tunes
heard from closed eyes
a freedom song
I breakaway
hurts to ponder
mends to listen
A healing tone
so forgiving and kind
pay attention to its life
Each note a heartbeat
so close to yours
feeling as one
Still I listen
the emotion within me
peeling away my sadness
An overcoming joy
built on strong legs and ivory keys
salvation awaits in this song

Oh I could certainly relate. I have loved piano for as long as I could remember. Not only for its beauty but for its resonance and the reverberation I feel inside when I sit down and express what I simply can't say.
"Each note a heartbeat
so close to yours
feeling as one"
Oh yes!! That is exactly how it feels!!!
Your poem is beautiful, very much so.

Beautiful work. I've always liked poetry about music, especially precisely this kind of poetry.
Well done!

Good poem, it sorta reminds me of one of mine but in a bit of a shorter way. But, heh, mines about depression! I can't help but laugh at that. How can a piano can express so much sorrow or such joy? It all depends on the song.
