Nosferatu

Contributed by vox on Friday, 12th August 2005 @ 06:46:48 AM in AEST
Topic: mythology

And it was in 1443 that the first Nosferatu was born.
Terra cotta shattered and the sky in pieces was torn.
For earth knew then, a great evil had come to life,
A danger which humans could not bear to recognize.

“Never speak his name out loud,” the old books used to write.
Cause the foolish men are too blind to realize
The dangers that beasts can sense at certain times.
With ignorance that fire can be set alive.

A beast, a devil mixed inside with human form.
His teeth are razors that sink deep into the fleshes core.
His eyes, his stare, so strong, that hypnotize.
Beware, He’s bound to take away your life!

Inside the dark shadows is where he chooses to spend his days.
For the light of the sun is an enemy, he can be harmed by its rays.
Only when the black night has taken place,
Is when he decides to come out, in search of his prey.

Be cautious never to meet him to your way.
His name rings like the cry of a bird’s prey.
Even his shadow is more horrible once it’s seen.
He’s so powerful at night, he can even control your dreams.

Always hold the weapons he fears the most.
Garlic, holy water and a holy cross.
Cherish them like gold; they’re worth more than what they say.
They’re worth as much as your life, if you’re willing to keep it safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
