Happy Days

Topic: HumorPoetry

When I was a kid I was always up a tree,
my friend Geraldene, rags the dog, and me,
we spent summer days in the orchard,
scrumping all the fruit, the farmer never liked it.
but we thought it was a hoot,

One day the farmer stepped, from behind a tree,
that really was a shock for geraldene and me,
in his riding breeches and his little riding hat,
me and gerry thought he really looked a prat,

"Get out of my orchard, or i'll shoot the dog"
well poor rags he run,and hid behind a log,
me and gerry were laughing,
our bodys shook with glee,
but our laughter turned to tears,
as we both fell out the tree.

We were laughing and crying, even though it hurt,
we ran through loads of brambles,
and gerry ripped her skirt,
rags was barking his head of,
he thought it was fun, he stank to high heaven,
he'd rolled in some cows dunn.

When I got home mum said whats that awful smell,
its rags, mum I said, she said you stupid girl,
I was sent to bed, I didn't get no tea,
but we had had a laugh, Geraldene and me,

The farmer didn't put us of, me and my little chums,
and mum never sent me to bed,
when I got her some plums....

Another funny tale lillyjane. Or should that be 'Tail' ? As I said before, a wickedly funny person resides within.

A complete story of the innocence and wonder of childhood, a short story of an age lost forever, beautifully put.
