It’s been a long, hard journey back
from that place where the day meets the night.
Only a few know for sure it’s true
when they say, that, “to live is to fight.”
The journey is long and the path is unsure
as we trek through the maze we erect.
At each dead-end lane we start over again
till we’re content that our course is correct.
Mist and dark shadows mix well with the light
as do bad moments weave into the scene;
grief plays its role, at the sake of delight,
and today’s slate wipes yesterday’s clean.
No matter the sorrow tied to all our demands,
regardless the depth of our pain;
our place in life’s race is in our own hands
as a fresh day shines on each newfound gain.
The journey’s been long, and I’ve had to fight.
Each day has come under attack.
Now, at last, I am sure things will work out alright,
and with the blessing of God . . . I AM BACK!

Oh yes, everything works out alright for those that love the Lord. I have tears in my eyes, so deeply am I touched by your incomparable words.
I treasure especially the line
"Mist and dark shadows mix well with the light
as do bad moments weave into the scene;"
How very true,
Tears are precious gems before the Lord and help redeem the world. Tears are holy and pain the the very stuff needed to transcend the clay.
How wonderful it is to have you back John - so brave, a great blessing, praise the Lord for it.! A Long wait, but it paid off. you are BACK and everything will be OK.and fine.
Let your light shine like it says in that little guiotar song. for the Glory of God.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and profoundly moving hymn with us.
Welcome back John!
Blessings in abundance.
Elizabeth

I am back too, yet again. Bad pennies keep coming back, and old truism.
This time I just wish to mention and confess that I have no idea whether the flowers on the graphic is dogwood or not, - - I always had trouble with the Flora,- :) :) :)
Dogwood or whatsoever, - I don't find an equivalent, in the "Woerterbuch: D
Dictionaries don't tell. but whatever the flora may be, they go so well with the masterpiece
Cheers!
