They All Stare

Contributed by HatchetGirl on Thursday, 11th August 2005 @ 02:21:27 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I walk around this familar school
and everyone stares at me
when I look at them they look away
why are you all afraid of me?

I do not rule the school
not everyone knows my name
yet, when I walk into a room
all their eyes are fixed upon me

When I talk to people in the school
they all watch their tongues around me
no one yells, no one screams, no one dares to make a scene
who am I to cause such silence?

Are you scared because I'm different?
because I'm have my own style
is it the black hair with pale white skin
or the three silver rings in my ears

Are you afraid that the music I listen to
might provoke me in to killing
do you think I worship satan
just because I don't believe in god

When you see me write in my book
what is it that you think I'm doing
writing a suicide letter to my mom
or writing a plan for world domaination

Did it ever cross your minds
your the ones that are weird
that you could kill just as easily as I could
or that I'm writing a poem about you

Devious plan...make them think you're writing bad things, but it's really just a poem! I've been looked at funny too. I liked it...good job.

This is a great poem. I am reminded of a song by one of my favorite artists on the same subject.

"Then I go to my brother
and I say brother help me please
but he winds up knocking me
back down on my knees"

"A change is gonna come" by Sam Cooke

Stacy this is great, and remember this. There is only one thing worse than being stared at, and that is not being stared at.
Right? I used to have pretty wild and whacky haircuts etc but I loved being stared at (most of the time). Like this one time I dyed my hair blue. I looked like a pioneer match walking down the road. lol
