Box of the Past

Contributed by puppy_dog_Eyes on Wednesday, 10th August 2005 @ 08:59:22 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Open the door, look out into the world
Too easy to cast a backwards glance to the comfort of the same, safe four walls
Where memories sit in boxes clearly labelled
Where everything is ordered, neat and complete

Step out into the light, into the new and unknown
Walk from the dark of soiled emotions and ripped apart promises
Where truth stripped bare could only be the lie
Where mistrust coils like a snake, choking your life

Use your eyes to see, your heart to feel
A dream is often a wish, more receptive the mind of the sleeper
Waking smothers hopes, too daring the thoughts of happiness
The victory of the negative, a battle barely fought

Today is not yesterday, tomorrow not the year before
See the sun in the sky, not the clouds that still linger
Take a key from your pocket and make it your saviour
Use it wisely , make it turn, lock the box of the past

WOW steve, masterpiece it is indeed.

Some good lines in this one like....

Where memories sit in boxes clearly labelled
Where everything is ordered, neat and complete

Walk from the dark of soiled emotions and ripped apart promises

The victory of the negative, a battle barely fought

You know all too well I am still kinda lingering around in me past but....BUT......slowly I am finding me way out of the past.... being handed a map of the future...sort to speak...rofl....

Nice one steve!

Huggssss,

Nats.

I wish we could all lock our past in a tomb of forgotten by all we would all be better people. The guilt could not eat us away or come back to haunt us or ruin our chances for future opportunities....A wonderful thought provoking piece...applause.
