Walk among the dark

Contributed by AshRayne on Tuesday, 9th August 2005 @ 03:17:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Shadow, standing in my path.
Let me cross you one last time.

I wish to enter the world of dark,
For that is how I am.

I admit I’m not a psycho,
But I am not sane either.

I have hatred in my life,
And more pain than I can stand,

But I want to rid it all,
And forget about the world.

There are good, and light.
They blind me from perception.

The darkness shows me truth,
And how I may accept them.

I try to draw the thoughts,
Of my ragged mind,

But the light intercepts them,
And makes me forget.

I try to remember,
But only in the night,

And I know why,
The world seems so bright.

The things they keep away,
They hide it.

The bold faced liars,
They seem to find it amusing.

Hide me from the evil,
Try to bring the good,

Take away the source,
They made me understood.

They tried to turn me away.
But it isn’t working.

So I come here to ask you,
Will you let me pass?

I see you look upon me,
With loathing and deception,

But yet you move aside,
For a moment of recollection,

You glance up, I understand,
I walk through, silently,

I go into the place,
Where I can be me.

I feel like real truth comes from the darkness in our lives. I'm suspicious of "happy people". Happiness is much like alcohol, drugs, and sex in that the product is an altered state of consciousness. Good poem!

Very interesting poem. I like how your shadow is the portal into the darkness. Though I feel that this poem is just the bones for what it could be. Possibly talking about the transformation of crossing over into this shadow from not being accepted in the light might help. Keep posting!
