Years ago I learned how to live in the dark.
When a man loses his sight, he must become sharp.
I can't date women for beauty, I love them for their minds.
Life is never the same after a man goes blind.
CHORUS:
Seventeen years ago a car crash took my sight.
I went on with my life but I had to endure the pain and fright.
It helps when people go out of their way to be kind.
But times became tough when I went blind.
God could've let me die in that crash but instead he gave me a second chance.
My sight is gone but my other senses are enhanced.
There's little happiness in my life but I cherish the little I can find,
As each day goes by, it becomes easier being blind.
I can no longer do the things I loved to do.
I can't drive, play golf or even enjoy a beautiful view.
I try to put up a brave front and pretend that everything is fine.
But life is never easy when a man goes blind.

I never really thought about what that would be like...your view was a pleasure to read.
( I would love to hear these lyrics set to music :) )

If someone really, loved for the person inside .. why that would be fantastic .. and then blindness would be a real gift..
I keep wondering about the music... |

Marvelous write, Randy. I have known a couple of people who were blind. They were 2 of my best friends. They made it through life and still are. They are very happy people. Their senses are much more heightened than ours are to overcome the loss of sight. Yes, I think it would be great set to music, but I wonder what it would be. Something maybe like John Lennon's 'Imagine', or even 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' type of music to bring to the listener that it is not the end of life, only a different path. Rita |
