I'm Sorry

Contributed by JLT on Monday, 8th August 2005 @ 09:00:27 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Lying in the dark,
Remembering what you said,
Repeating every word,
Over and over in my head.

Reminiscing the good times,
Afraid of what may be,
I don't even want to know,
After what you said to me.

You used every emotion,
Screamed and yelled and spoke your mind,
With teardrops streaming down your face,
You proved we've faded with time.

We used to get along so well,
But disappointment is just too much,
I know that it is all my fault,
I just didn't give a f**k.

I'm sorry I'm such a screw up,
I know that you want me to die,
I'm sorry for everything I've ever done wrong,
I'm sorry for making you cry.

I'm sorry for not being as smart,
As i know that you want me to be,
I'm sorry for being annoying,
Please forgive me for being like me.

I'm sorry for doing the drugs,
I'm sorry for keeping secrets from you,
I'm sorry for everything i can't remember,
For you to forgive me, please what can i do?

I'm sorry for my scars,
I'm sorry for my temper and pain,
I'm sorry for not understanding,
I know that there's no one else to blame.

I'm sorry for not being the perfect daughter,
I'm sorry, I know i wasn't meant to live,
I wish i could go back and die as a baby,
To make you feel better, there's so much i would give.

I'm sorry for hanging out with the wrong people,
I'm sorry for getting in trouble at school,
I'm sorry for being so stupid,
I know that I've been such a fool.

I'm sorry for being, you're embarrassing mistake,
I'm sorry for living, but now i must die,
So if you could please forgive me,
I know that you won't even cry.

Of all the bad things I've ever done,
It's time to end both of our pain,
I find the right spot, take the knife,
And slice right through the vein.

Please forgive me for not being perfect,
I know that you wanted so much more than this,
Please know that I'll always remember,
The last time that i felt your gentle kiss.

Please know that I've always loved you,
It was hard to see, but my love was there.
Please know that I'll never forget you,
My death will prove to you how much i truly care.

In the last few moments, of my life,
I silently sing the song you used to sing to me,
Over and over i repeat the words,
Thinking of all that i could never be.

Tears streaming down my face,
I glance at the door and you're walking through,
You panic, and see my suicide note,
And with my last breath,
I whisper "Mom, I love you"...

excellent piece of work. very good ending. i like how your "im sorry" bits arent in a set format, because i dont really like set formats for repetitions, because you always know the next bit will be the same. your first three stanzas stood out to me, because they set the tone. your next from last stanza also stands out because it sort of reminds you of the beginning stanzas. and you had some exellent rhyming going on as well.
