Girl of My Dreams

That beautiful skin, that lovely hair
That provocative walk, that went without a care.
It made me wonder if Beauty was her largest gene,
She walked, talked, and captured the essence of a queen
Then, she came to me, and boldly she came,
She delivered a kiss and asked me my name.
I remember water…we walked along the beach,
Then I knew that I loved her, but she seemed out of reach.
As our relationship grew it came to be,
That I wanted say, “I love you” and hope she loved me.
Perfection, Love, Wonder, and pure bliss came to mind,
All these adjectives to describe her only made me blind.
To fact that it would soon be over and I’d wake up,
Because if dreams were reality, I wouldn’t get enough.
When I woke up I realized that there was something I forgot.
I meant to tell her I loved her, but I’m afraid she loved me not.
Dreams are a model for reality, and as insane as it seems.
In this trance I realized there is no girl of my dreams.
