A Time For Healing

A necessary realization must occur
To each individual we must not defer
If we focus only on our selves, unity is lost
Too numerous agendas, at too high a cost
It is difficult to tolerate change
But through bickering and resentment nothing is gained
Why can't we keep our own parish together?
This is our church; we've been coming here forever
These are rough times and necessity dictates
An economic reality must be faced
Manpower and money are not enough
To support three churches is just too tough
But then church is not brick and mortar
Rather the people, who must work harder
For now is the time for unity and working together
For our own spirituality is the focus of our endeavor
In bickering and personal agendas do not abide
As God's servants, we must not divide
His wish for us is to be church inside
And to reflect His love by putting selfishness aside

You speak the truth and this poem holds true outside the church to "Disunity leads to destruction and tearing down" Thank you for your gentle reminder. |

Well done Will...some crafty advanced rhyming in this piece, which gave it a wonderful, smooth flow. You expressed your point with taste too...Hopefully your positive words will bring change. Good write!

I recall seeing your first posts Terry. I doubt highly at the time, you were ready for posting in your church bulletin. This attests to just how far you have come in developing your poetic voice. The message, as always, is one of import, and that it means something to you carries additional weight.

I think this will be well received. I think all too often whether it be in our individual lives or in a church parish, economics can cloud what we know is right in heart and soul. I will keep you and your church in my thoughts and prayers.
I wish you all the best.
*hugs*

Well said my friend. Well written too. I think this is a message for more than just your church...it's to all of us who lose sight of the goal.
Excellent
Barkeep!

Lovely message - hope they listened. Yup - God doesn't care about the money or how fancy the building. :-)
Good work!
