It was never you that my heart longed for
It was an emotion locked behind a frozen door.
Feelings reborn when I met your hot gaze,
but nothing good could come from that haze.
It stole my sweet sleep and ignited in me
a hunger so viscious it robbed me of peace.

That is a great way to describe infatuation. It reminds me of a song:
"In a restless world we live in
Love has ended before it's begun
and too many moonlight kisses
seem to fade with the warmth of the sun"
Excerpt from: "When I fall in love" by Nat King Cole |

Ahhh yes infatutation and lust can be so powerful indeed...
I enjoyed reading this...it sure did touch my heart as I can relate to almost every word.
You've done a good job, well done fellow poet. |

That last two lines...a bared soul. Well done.
Take care,
