Cry, Child

Contributed by lostinmyself on Sunday, 7th August 2005 @ 11:58:06 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Cry silently, dear child,
The tears will ease your pain,
And know it's never wrong to cry,
If you need to cry again.

I know it's not easy to do,
But maybe you'll find peace,
Just cry and cry, dear child,
Let tears give you release.

Speak your woes to someone,
And don't lock them away,
Know someone out there's praying,
For your fear to stop today.

Just let it all out and notice,
How the crying makes you feel,
Because until you truly do it,
You will never really heal.

Listen to me, child,
I know of what I say,
'Cause I'm looking in the mirror,
I'm talking to myself today.

And I know it's hard advice to take,
But I know one day you will,
For looking in the mirror,
I can see the tears begin to spill.

And it will be okay again one day,
Just hold on tight to hope,
For the angels here have saved you,
And taught you how to cope.

Cry silently, dear child,
These tears will ease the pain,
And maybe oneday very soon,
You'll be yourself again.

This is a really good write Phil. I however do not agree with this line:

Speak your woes to no one

how will you get better if you do that?

Keep writing

I like it.........I feel your pain and your desire to heal. Keep writing. Writing about your pain will help your healing. Good rhyme.

The talk, the tears, the writing are all very therapeutic, Philly. Don't be afraid to pour your soul into anothers cup. Just getting it out helps, the tears release some stress, and poets always get some respite just writing it out. Love and strength.

this one really tickled my emotions. i had a really hard childhood and i remember the point at which i could no longer cry. and it sucked. after a few years of not crying, i was hospitalized for bi-polar disorder, so good advice for anyone to follow, if you can cry make it a river.

Phil, I couldn't say anything that would in any way add to what you have here. This is good advise if the addressee listens to the addressor. Listen to yourself, Phil. I do believe talking may help but you gotta find the right person to talk to and that can be difficult sometimes.

It's been a while... since a poem has hit this hard. This is... this is thunder rolling across a bright blue sky, Philly and it is as beautiful as you.

How many times can you astonish me with your growth as a poet and a person?
At least one more I guess.
