The Hive

Contributed by trixxx on Sunday, 7th August 2005 @ 07:36:54 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

A silent scream, sung with one whisper
Into the mind of the hive
From the Queen, walking a line cut with a whisker
Between sanity and subtle harmony

This wave of wings, inwardly chatting
Learning like blind revolution
Unsure of propulsion, but constantly changing
Tuning the hive to the mind

Carefully watch this body of drones
Spin with perpetual motion
For gravity catches these spiralling clones
And rivets them to conformity

The more the hive changes, the less the drones feel
When the Queen rips out their wings
Stark vision prevents them from knowing what's real
When another Queen learns how to sing

So if you hear the whispers of some artful melody
Through superficial insight you must learn how to survive
Beware the fated sirens that would seek to set you free
Or be caged within the paradox
The unforgiving hive
