I used to be that girl who would listen to your every word
And bathe in those looks you would cast me
While we sat at the separate extreme ends of everything.
I would smile at you but only my best
And dream about summer when would spend hours
Out back arguing about what music to listen too
And hanging out with people we never really liked before then
I used to love it when you held me
And told me that my music sucked
And that I was failure and should jump off a bridge
And run your hands through my hair before when it was long
I used to be that girl who would spend hours with you
Between concerts, living rooms, and the park down the street
Laughing, talking, and never letting go of you those were the greatest time
But now its gone away and time has turned them into memories
We sit together and talk about how it used to be
I hold you tight and cry whenever things get bad
And you tell me that everything will change back to how it was
You call me beautiful once more then lay me down on your bed
And sit on ground feeling my arms as if I’m no longer alive
I don’t think I ever told you how much I loved you
And I don’t think I ever wanted to anymore than then
You kissed the tips of my fingers and called me tragic
