Day to Day Cops

Topic: SadPoetry

One person said, "Why can't we find the happiness we seek?"
The other said, "Because it's not meant for us."
So they both walked down the dead road watching with dead eyes
The dead of night
One person said, "Why are'nt their people out? Clubs are open and kids should still be playing, Why?"
The other said, "Because they do not want to. Life is meaningless."
They turned left to an open shooting range
One person said, "So we try to keep life alive for nothing. Are we doing something wrong?"
The other shook his head and said, "Happiness is just a word made up by some idiot who was drunk. People do not seek the night for predators come out and seek blood. We keep life alive because we get paid. Nothing more, nothing less."
The one man did not understand, "So you are saying that I am just seeking out money?"
The other said, "Yes, you may not notice it now because you are blinded by your own thoughts but you are working for the money not for the people."
"I am not blinded by my own thoughts, sir you must believe me on that. I wanted to help others so that their life would live on."
And at that point the light came out of his eyes and his mouth before upturned now frowned
He said, "I see what you mean, sir. I don't care anymore. I just want the money. Happiness tried to blind me but now I see the real world. Who knows, maybe one day someone will live on always in the light."
The two walked down the street guns still with them
The two police officers saw a rapist
"Should we get him?"
"Nah it's fine. Just leave him be."
The two police officers just walked, guns in hand
Walking down the lonely path, guns drawn and fired.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
