I want to be
I do not want to feel
Can I have both?
Does it have to be real?
If I drink till I'm numb
will the hurt go away,
or sink only to rise

It is such a useless thing to try to do. Our problems are carried in our minds and hearts and wherever we run to, or whatever vice we try to use to forget them still does not make them go away, for they are always with us. When the drink wears off, when the drug stupor is not there, the problems still are and get larger in time if not dealt with. This is very sad that people do not realize these are temporary measures that cannot rid the problems in you life, only cause harsher ones on top of what you started with.

i'll be honest with you, you can esacape from having to feel. You can be and lose the ability to feel. It takes awhile and its not worth it. Drinking and drugs have nothing to do with it either. It all has to do with you mentally...

| I wrote this several years ago during a difficult time in my marraige. I absolutely know that there is no escpae, but at the time these were my feelings. |
