Soft and warm her midnight kiss
Low, her whispers grace these ears
Heal this heart once gone amiss
Calm the soul and stem the tears
Velvet touch from tender hands
Trembling now, I dare to feel
What the lover understands
The lonely cannot see as real
Once upon a long ago
Lost was I with broken dreams
Sure that I would never know
Love that mind and soul redeems
In a moment you appeared
Woman with an Angel's eyes
And the fate the I had feared
Was replaced with loving sighs
Calm the soul and stem the tears
Heal this heart once gone amiss
Low, her whispers grace these ears
Soft and warm her midnight kiss
Trembling now, I dare to feel
Velvet touch from tender hands
The lonely cannot see as real
What the lover understands

You are an amazing writer. There is a lot you say in your poem that draws to communication and love in a relationship. (I hope my hands shake when I fall in love) |

Larry, I always have a fabulous time reading your work. It is always so ... just right.
I do have two questions on this one ( very minor if the truth be told )
in this line "And the fate the I had feared" ... the second THE was supposed to be a THAT ... right?
While I know you have reasons for all you do and your word choice is impeccable, would you consider "My tears" as applicable in the final stanza? No, never mind, then it would be to far altered from before.
Another award winner Larry ...

Beautiful, almost reverently so. Tender, quiet, acknowledging, honest. So many words could be used to express what is thought in regards to your poem.
The calling from your poem, I believe reaches into the heart of everyone be it male or female. Yet, I wonder (naturally curious) what a poem like this would sound like if a woman softly spoke a version to an unknown stranger who is unaware that she is as in earnest looking for him as he is looking for her.
Your poetry makes me think and deeply. It also brings peace, a smile, sometimes a laugh and other times that old feeling called lonliness. Regardless, it makes the reader feel.
I tell you that every one is your best because you outdo yourself each time. So instead of saying that this time----i'll think i'll just say..........................:)

Larry writes with a romantic pen
Words of love flow beautifully amen
An angel plucked it from her wings
You can hear a host of angels sing
Wow one lucky angel to have these words whispered in her ears.
Magnificent Mr romance

Loneliness...had we never been blessed with it, we would not know true kinship. You bring it all together and manage to rhyme, too. I will always envy your writing ability my friend.

This could have been what the poetess understands
Calm the soul and stem the tears
Heal this heart once gone amiss
Low, her whispers grace these ears
Soft and warm her midnight kiss
Trembling now, I dare to feel
Velvet touch from tender hands
The lonely cannot see as real
What the poet understands
Breathless sighs deeply and wipes her brow. Feels the love and wants to be held in the cocoon of these words.
Beautiful a million and one roses for you Larry
Love Angelxxxx

I see you are no longer posting here,I guess you have moved on.
This was a slap round the cheek for me,a reminder of what I love about poetry.
Delivered in Byronic style.....and it was the business.
