All Is Reminiscent

Contributed by pUnKa_RaCh on Thursday, 4th August 2005 @ 09:58:39 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Every sound my faint ears hear
Every day that begins anew
Every repeated sight seen
All reminds me of you

Every rose that glistens,
Every sweet scent I smell,
Every time I wake or sleep,
Even in this bed I dwell

Every precious memory,
In every mundane word I say,
Every time I watch lovers,
Every angst-ridden song I play

Every dream my mind does master,
Every time I look upon the ceiling,
You never seem to leave me,
Felt in every anguished or happy feeling

Every touch against my hand,
In every eye I look within,
Every question I always ask,
In every heart I win,

Amongst every painful regret,
Every time I dare to remember,
It’s you I am reminded of,
In another’s kiss so tender,

Every smile I radiate,
Every small tear I cry,
Is because I think of you,

And all that could’ve been
Of you and I.

Heartfelt poem, but you must move on in life. We cannot live forever in a world of 'what ifs'. I know the pain hurts and I know that everything you see, do and say holds a memory, but eventually you have to step forward into a new time and a new love. Hope your heart heals soon.

Questions of what could have been
will always recur when love is betrayed,
unexpressed, or forgotten. Just remember,
it is better to have loved and lost, than never
have loved at all. The broken-hearted may
not live forever, but the regretful do not live
at all.

Good poem. Keep writing.
