the 2nd bell rang
to let me know im late
another ****ing detention
another restless hour to wait
You never learned anything about me
Your methods arent bettering anyone
Im sick of academics
I just want to feel the mornings sun

Well do not be late for class then lol. High school can be hard, sometimes it is the work, but sometimes it is the people that you have to deal with, you have to deal with people trying to start crap with you, you have to deal with people trying to fight you, you have to deal with people talking crap about you when they do not even know you, that is the thing I hate about school, I wrote a poem about that, it fits a person that I met in school, at the time he was a bastard but somehow we ended up friends. If you could, could you please read the poem Titled 'Discrasing' by The-brokn-rose. If you have time. Thank you. And I like your poem, I know how it goes. |

Hi Mand, I really enjoyed reading this, especially as I too disliked formal education at the age of 15/16. In fact, I refused to attend school at all.Not sure what age people are when they attend 'high school' as I am in UK.
Where I would urge a little caution (and this is nothing to do with the written work itself) is where you say you've had it with academics. I returned to education in my 30s, and recently graduated as a Bachelor of Science . I speak from experience when I say education is an incredibly enriching experience which no one can take from you, and like it or not, it is taught by academics. They are not all bad I can assure you. lol
I think we all arrive at education by way of a myriad of routes, and for a bundle of complex reasons, but no matter what age, or which route, I genuinely hope you continue in / return to education. Good luck in future,
Colin |

I am a bit of an odd one then as i loved high school (the last two years). it was great i spent my time with my friends and my teachers were wonderful, and i cried the day i graduated as i didnt want to leave.
however i can see where you are coming from as it wasnt like that all the time as the years before that there was much bullying and the like, and the classes where long and boring. i liked your poem and i feel it is a shame that they edited the swear word from it as it makes the poem, and i quite like the swearing...
good work!
