A World Lost

A World Lost

Sitting in my lopsided chair;
Begging silently, I plea for justice.
However, here she is blind.
Help me, for you must see I suffer;
Suffering, as I watch these walls crumble
Into ruins of ancient Greece
It is you, a devil who has caused this chaos
You believe in your God but he has no mercy
His wrath affecting the innocent
Sacrificing souls to his horsemen
Reaching for a pen that does not exist;
I write,
On imaginary paper
An Institution of un-cleanliness creeps about
On the crusted feces of peoples hands,
Crippled moral walks, zombie like
Hinting, carefully of the end
Tomorrow, a broken record plays again and again,
Implanting the routine into mindless actions
Skipping occasionally,
Creating a slightly different remix
In order to fool those who do not care to notice
Goofy and childlike you sit about barking
Taking control sergeant like, unaffected
By reality
Actions without consequence, heed to the dirt
That clings to your body like a needy child.
Rotten fruit takes places of your heart, as
Flies swarm out of your mouth with each
Putrid word you speak.
Spreading the plague with each controlled step
Withered bodies dry up and disappear to a better haven
Again you smile, it is empty
Babyish, I would say you must have gas.
Sitting in my lopsided chair,
I realize as the heat sweeps in from under the door
Summer will not end
The sun is only growing hotter
Glowing like jaundice
Falling like a comet
Destroying life, and burning hope into ashes
But it will be me that collects them in my golden urn
Screwing it tightly shut, placing it on the mantle
I will look upon it and in its reflection,
Yesterday will be there;
As I,
Write with a pen that does not exist.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
