This hurts more than i love

Contributed by brokenwings on Wednesday, 3rd August 2005 @ 02:45:09 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Saw you today, and my heart sank to my feet
there you were with her, and i was next to him.
Looked in your eyes still tender when you looked at me
but standing next to me was my love
and next to you was your wife.

How it hurt not to kiss your lips and feel your hands on my hips,
it hurt so much more, to see her living the life
I was sure would be mine.
but we made our choice to end we parted ways
so when i saw your first born son,i knew the days
of you being mine
drifted away with the time...

With a shake of hands,
we parted ways once again
but deep down my heart cried
because i knew my statement of being over you,
that was one of the few times, I lied.

you never really ever forget one you give your heart to. But take comfort in knowing it must be the same for him as well.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
