Child of Hope

Contributed by stellar on Wednesday, 3rd August 2005 @ 12:05:09 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Everybody has a dream
And as I stare at you I wonder yours
How do you see the world through your eyes
What sort of visions seep through your pores

I pray that your heartache
Never limits you or tightens the strings
I wish for you to rise above
That the razor sharp pain won't clip your wings

You have a life so twisted and misunderstood
You live in a home no child ever should

Yet you are the future
The free world's new hope
But still so few
Who'll throw you a rope

The next generation will have raised themselves. It remains to be seen if they can rise above the maladjusted world they grew up seeing or will they succumb to it. I just wish I could tuck them all in at night with a bedtime story and and kiss on the forehead. Somehow I just have a feeling they will have made it inspite of their world. Great write.

Enjoyed reading your poem. Sad but filled with emotion and deals with what actually occurs in the real world. Not all is rosy, there is good and bad. And we need to express both. Great job!

This is, perhaps, the most compassionate muse of empathy that I've ever had the privilege to read.

God only knows the future souls who are dying to here that someone just cares and identifies their unfortunate plight.

God bless this muse, and all who read. It's meaning invaluable, for soul's worth and gems of Heaven. Thanks for sharing this, for sure.

Regards,
~Lilly-Quill
